Blackie has been unplayable for quite some time now, and was sold at auction many moons ago. Clap is using all new Fender Custom stuff live.
..and, yes, he's doing great for his age. Always a plyer of great tase.
I was hoping he'd play one of his old Gibsons (if he still has any of them) on that Cream reunion tour last year, but he stuck with his Strats. (Cream's music better suits humbucker-equipped guitars, imo).

IIRC, "Blackie" was/is a jigsaw puzzle of a guitar composed of various components from other 50's and 60's Strats. Eric 'retired' Blackie quite some time ago due to its neck dimensions being worn away to a frazzle .... Blackie became too fragile and was rendered 'unplayable' (at least for Eric to use onstage). Several years ago Blackie was auctioned off and fetched nearly $1 million to one happy collector! (twasn't me, but I can dream :)
I saw the Clapper twice in my life, 1974 and 1975 (his 'comeback' tours as it were) .... would've gone to see the Cream reunion last year, but Paul McCartney was right around the same time and had to fork out big $$$ for that ... would've gone to see Clapton this year, but The Who were around the same time and had to fork out big $$$ for them too ....
How come these expensive rockers always come around at the same time nowadays ??? There is only so much $$$ for the average music fan to spend on these concert tours, even though we might be considered rich Republicans ... LOL
