Let's go Predators! They've called up A Rad from our minors team. He is amazing.
Is it just me or have the refs stopped calling the hooking and holding penalties as much as last year?
We're getting phantom hooking calls and hardly any holding calls. I just read an article this week about youth hockey and how the refs have started calling all contact, as they did in the NHL last year, and how frustrating it is for everyone involved.
Yeah, I know. My son plays high school hockey. We haven't played our first game yet, but USA Hockey put out a DVD explaining all the new rules and how they're being called.
A lot of it can be avoided by remembering to always play the puck and stay away from playing the body only. They're calling anything that looks to be obstruction.
There are a lot of coaches being suspended 1 game for getting 15 team penalties. An old rule that really didn't happen much until this year.
Now that was a hockey game!!!!
