Ohio State is the team to beat this year, but USC is in the catbird's seat for that matchup.

I think at this point Michigan is much more scared of OSU at this point then the other way around. That could be why for the chip on the shoulder in mean defense, OSU could be unstopable.

Michigan's defense may very well keep the game within reach. Both are terrific teams but it looks like OSU has the edge at this point.
I see it this way:
Offensive Edge: Ohio State, but only slightly. the running game favors Michigan, but the pass is pretty even. Troy Smith makes the difference.
Defense: Even. Both are great defenses. Michigan is better against the run, but OSU is better against the pass.
Special teams: Ohio State's return game can be the best in the nation. Michigan's kicker is more experienced, but the punters are nearly equal as well. Slight edge Ohio State
This far out it's hard to make a guess, but as it stands now, OSU has the slightest of slight advantages. And the game is in the Horseshoe.

If you want to go by stats, just give the damn Heisman to whichever kid is the QB at Hawaii each and every year. what did you say the Heisman was for? oh i forgot, its a meaningless popularity contest...

When I took a look at the lineup, then I discovered that a new bowl game has been added. Over the last few years, there has been so many changes to the bowl setup that it makes you want to scratch you head wondering if the BCS ever will get it right. For a long time I had been thinking that they should do what the college basketball people have been doing, have a playoff series based on a bracket setup. But just looking at what you have posted Mike could be the closet or next best thing to a "bubble" setup.
Thanks for helping me make my research a little bit easier.

Pretty good analysis, I would agree with you on what you said.
Except......in this regard. Michigan does have a chip on its shoulder, with something more to prove than Ohio State. They don't fear them that's for sure, this is a confident team.
For that reason, I'm calling this dead even. Even in the Horseshoe. I'm guessing they will be ranked 1 and 2 in the BCS at that point, and not to be trite....
But throw everything out the window, this is going to be for all the marbles. Two great teams, a great rivalry game......going to be the best of the year, one of the best of the decade.
And I'm mortagaging Mikes' house for tickets!!!!!

That's Anthony Gonzalez. Agreed. He's the unsung hero of our Buckeye offense this season. Ginn is our "go to" guy, but darn, Gozo makes the big plays time after time. He's amazing.

Takes me back to a few years ago, when my daughter played BB for Ohio State. We arrived at Ann Arbor for one of her games, and my late Daddy and I were able to walk right up into the "Big House". The stadium was so empty and silent, but I could almost hear all the cheers of past Buckeye/Wolverine games gone by. I'll never forget that experience.

well... either stats matter or its a popularity contest...
To: Biggirl
Neither team fears the other and both are anxious to play the other.

I never said stats didn't matter, but unlike you, I realize that there are other factors to take into account.....
