New York Giants star and leading NFL rusher Tiki Barber said he probably will retire after the season, the New York Times reported Wednesday.
Hes seriously leaning toward it, said Barber's business agent, Mark Lepselter. I think he feels hes perfected his craft, in a way, and is ready for something else.
...
Barber plans on a post-NFL career in television, and currently is very busy off the field, including jobs as a radio talk-show host, a childrens book author and co-host of Fox & Friends, a general news program on Fox News, the Times said.
...
For the longest time, I thought I had to win a Super Bowl to define my career, Barber said. I would like to, but I dont have to, because I can walk away knowing I did the best I could.

Tiki Barber 9320 Yards total.. he probably wants 10,000 which he should have before the end of this year....
To: GraniteStateConservative
That's a big blow to Giants fans. But Tiki is a talented guy who can do many things outside of football and being an NFL running back is the most brutal job in sports, especially for a smaller back like him who is a workhorse.

Is this hugh and series?

He'll get his ring this year. The G-men are on a roll and will destroy Bledsoe often and early on MNF. Owens will go into a tirade on the sideline because Bledsoe, when he has the time, will throw it to the peanut vendors.

that would be 10 years and 10,000yards for the tiki man. :)

Can't believe that he would end his career without a ring, especially BECAUSE his brother has one with the Bucs. These twins have always been fiercely competitive and very supportive of each other.

Leave at the top of your game.
IMHO - That's much better than hanging on "one more year" and going out on a low note

Ronde has a ring but I bet Tiki make MORE cash! and thats all that matters! :D plus he gets on the tube. :)

If his heart ain't in it... get out. leave while you have your health and you can still walk without a limp etc. just make sure that you get your 10K this year.

A team that gets walloped and is down 35 - 3 is not a Super Bowl caliber team.

Yes, Tiki may make more money, but to have THE RING! Example:
Tiki: Hey Rhonde, have you seen my new swimming pool?
Rhonde: Yeah, it looks great! See how the sparkling water shines off my SUPER BOWL RING?!?!
That little piece of jewelry means a whole bunch to another player.
These guys will rub it in on each other no matter what the situation.

We shall see. They are a totally different team after that game which was the 3rd in a brutal opening. I defy any team to go 3-2 with thie schedule they had. Colts, @ Eagles, @ Seahawks, Skins, @ Falcons.
