As I have been traveling through the country on my musical tour, I have been thinking about the upcoming election, which is less than a month away. So far, I have been in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and currently I am in Washington DC, the epicenter of political activity in our country. It has been a while since I communicated through a statement on my website, since I have been busy preparing for the tour. But I have been following the various congressional and senate races by reading the local newspapers in these states, and once again it is so clear to me how vital this upcoming election is to the future of our country.
Since the Republicans control the White House, the Congress and the courts, this president is not going to be impeached because the republicans in control of these branches of government would never allow it to even be considered. During the past 6 years, we have not been able to accomplish anything important and beneficial. This country has experienced one debacle after another: a failed Iraq policy, runaway debt, stagnant wages, the list goes on. The only way to hold this unaccountable president accountable is to take back control of the House or Senate or both. In less than 30 days if the people of this country vote and put Democrats back in control of Congress, we would have committee chairman that could launch investigations and examine policies with the full authority of Congress. Minority members do not have this power now. They can not control what bills are considered, how long committees debate them, whether bills get reported out onto the floor, or whether a vote gets scheduled. All these decisions are made by the Republican leadership of both the House and the Senate.
This is why we must really energize the Democratic base to take this election seriously and have high voter turn out at the polls on Election Day. Theyll try to manipulate this election, suppress our vote and play the fear card again, but this time we cant let them succeed. The only way to counter-act their strategy is for everyone to turn out and be counted. The future of our country is at stake. The way the world perceives our countryis at stake. And the future of our children and our grandchildren is at stake unless we take back control and change the direction this administration has taken our country. We have that power. Lets use it.
I'd like to see a complete listing of crackpot Lib theories posed in just the last 5 years:
* Bush had the WTC & Pentagon bombed so he could wage war against Muslims
* Bush rigged and stole not one, but two elections
* Stole lucative defense contracts by hand delivering them to friends.
* Was tickled pink to see New Orleans destroyed and enjoyed letting everyone twist in the wind for a few extra days.
* Arrests, detains, tortures anyone at anytime for practically any reason
* Views our soldiers as pawns to simply be dropped into a meat grinder so he can chase his big picture ideas
* Has intelligence created that meets whatever his needs are
The libs can't figure out why they can't woo over the politically moderate middle. It's because they embrace their fantatical fringe instead of trying to distance themselves from it.
Well Saggy, there's always France.
Ce qui a pris si longtemps?
See she does need duct tape!!!! rofl
"I see her Post Menopausal Yeast Infection is back......"
Yeah the usual throat problem.
Shame on you. None of your observations mention Haliburton or the fact that the Bush family's oil interests benefit directly from turmoil in the Middle East.
Also, Bush is most likely a borderline-retarded puppet who is taking directions from Cheney and Karl Rove.
You're referring to the photo posted in #19? I would be ashamed to show them if those were mine. Then again, she's always been on Blackwell's worst dressed list...even before Cher.
You'll have to excuse me a minute. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit and then swallowed it...
Yes, please vote....For Republicans it's November 7th...for Democrats..it is November 8th. They are doing this to prevent fraud...so please, vote on your designated day!
That's understandable. Streisand always affects me like that, too.
Oh yeah, of course, and the part that really break them up - Because he wouldn't have our country bend over for the UN and old Europe, no body likes us any more. Why doesn't anybody like us? (sniff, sniff)
Oh, I forgot: There is a civil war going on in Iraq, and getting rid of Saddam Hussein made the world more dangerous.
Also, the middle class is disappearing, and we are in the midst of the worst economy since Hoover.
If I think of any more, I'll be sure to let you know.
Brabra, you can COUNT on it that I will be voting on election day. Only you won't be happy to hear WHO I am voting for or what party they ALL belong to.
You DO realize that Democrats are humor imparied (as were the Nazis). They did not see the humor in that VERY old joke and tried to claim that was "evidence" of Republican vote fraud in recent years.
Meanwhile the DNC Brownshirts were oddly silent on the tire slashing case in 2004 where dozens of "get out the vote" election vans were slashed outside of GOP offices on election day in one city.
We know what the real dirty tricks in a campaign look like. And I don't say this to diminish your joke but the answer back to anyone else who may be trolling through FR and feeling that was "wrong".
Oh that's just wrong on so many levels!
Babs and the commies can die screaming.
