Is that a whistling kettle on your stove top? We used to have one years ago but for the last 30 years we have had an electric kettle.
Are stove top kettles still popular in the States in Britain they are mainly just for decoration not for actual use.

I should have turned it so you could see it better. Yes, it's a whistler. Mike gave it to me for my birthday six years ago. I told him it will last longer than I will!
I have a number of friends who use stove-top tea kettles.
