I have wondered if the fish markets reduced the price of fish on Fridays, knowing the Catholics were going to be buying, and everyone got a deal that way. I was raised Episcopalian, where there was no injunction to eat fish on Fridays, and we often had fish on Fridays. My public school cafeteria served fish on Fridays when I was in grade school.

My sister-in-law has family in England, and whenever they go visit, they always bring back a ton of chocolates and digestive buisquits. I like the dark chocolate Aeros.
I live in the Pittsburgh area, and our local Giant Eagle supermarket carries many of the Heinz products that are made specifically for the UK, including salad cream, marmalite and baked beans.
Cool! Another Pittsburgher here, it seems like we have a number that hang out here in the single's forum.
BTw, I host it next week so I'll have to work on my theme once I get this Pentium II back into shape since I had to reinstall everything. The bad thing when I first reinstall Windows 2000, I'm the target of many pop-ups and I need to use high doses of anti-spyware and a firewall. I wonder why Windows 2000 is a big target, Windows 98 isn't. B-P Pop-ups and Pop-unders need to be outlawed. Generally I'm against capital punishment in all but the most exceptional cases, but with that many pop-up's I've been getting, I'm starting to wonder if I should change my mind. B-D
Well, I live 10 miles West of Pittsburgh, near the airport, I see planes all the time. One morning, while walking out to the car, I saw Air Canada fly in.

Without being able to separate the photos, this will be tricky but here's a go at naming
some of the items.
Row 1: mostly hamburgers
Row 2: Pizza, ?, ?, prawns? over rice, grilled steak and sausage (we say "grilled" if using the barbecue)
Row 3: (already named), (already named), chicken and cheese "burger"?, Kentucky Fried Chicken, KFC again
Row 4: Strawberry shortcake *YUM*, pumpkin pie?, can't see it well enough, hot dog and bun, pizza
Row 5: Probably key lime pie, maybe cheesecake with actual cake layer topped with chocolate, maybe a mince pie, ice cream Sundae
Row 6: maybe lemon pie with nut topping, assorted ice creams with wafer cookie, same thing w/o the wafer, some kind of cream pie with strawberry topping, apple pie with ice cream

Caraway seeds are so delicious, they should be in their own food group to afford them proper recognition. ;-)
Did you know they are from the carrot family? (Seriously.)

I should note that I don't get the five-pound version, as the picture shows. I copied that because it was bigger and easier to see. I get the little box.

I dunno, but I remember a few years ago, the Pittsburgh Diocese wanted to emphasize the eating of fish on Fridays, one caller to KDKA-AM's talkshow thought that Wholey's Fish Market in our Strip District was in cahoots with the Pope. B-D I know where I work at, the ground division of a major shipping firm, fish or shrimp is served on Friday's, doubly so during Lent. I know me being a Lutharan, the only Friday where we are not supposed to wat meat is good Friday. IIRC, I had a small cheese pizza, didn't want fish since it was big and I didn't want to eat a lot.

I use primarily olive oil for cooking.. recently found out that Canola Oil has problems health wise when heated so now I just use it for salads.
Sesame & almond oil are both supposed to be healthy for cooking & for many items I use butter.
I NEVER use margarine for ANYTHING.

I see the Good 'n' Plenty photo vanished, to be replaced by a Nastygram about not hotlinking. How is one supposed to know THAT before posting?
I'm getting hungry for black licorice with a candy coating. ;-)
Unfortunately, the red licorice (we call them Red Vines, Eleanor) give me really baddd migraines.

We call those liquorice comforts I can see why. That's exactly what they are.
I sent you a photo of half of my kitchen, via regular Email. It shows the stove top (hob) that we were discussing recently.
