AUSTIN, Texas -- Bevo XIII, the winningest and longest-serving mascot in University of Texas history, died Monday, Oct. 9 at the age of 22. He died less than 48 hours after the Longhorns defeated the Oklahoma Sooners, 28-10, in the 2006 edition of the Red River Rivalry.
Originally named Sunrise Express, Bevo XIII was born in February 1984 and became the UT mascot in 1988, serving for 16 years. A national grand champion steer before he was four years old, he was loaned to The University by John and Betty Baker, owners of Sunrise Ranch in Liberty Hill, Texas.
His career as Bevo carried him to both coasts and to both the 2000 and 2004 inaugurations of President George W. Bush.

Yeah. Y'all can flame away if y'all want. But I still like the ox a lot more and think he contributed far more than Teddie, Hillary, Rosie, Ex-President Bubba, the Reverand Al and the Reverand Jessie combined. His Steer Sh*t was also much more productive than the Bull Sh*t pumped out by Congress and the MSM. And unlike all the rogues on this list, Bevo never hurt nobody.
All in all, I'll miss my Moo.

Bevo looked a might under the weather at the OU-Texas game. Now he's gone to that big McDonalds in the sky.

A steer is a calf casterated before sexual maturity and raised only for eating. The meat on the bone of a 22 year old cow is as tough as a rubber sheet and very fiborous (muscle tone) and absolutely gamey (old).

It sounds like one would not want to eat the dear, departed beeve. Maybe they'll stuff and mount it!
