Yea that would be like having oracle, mssql, informix, db2, etc. all just to be a databases, one standard should be adopted and used by everyone having all these companies spend millions of dollars on software which basically is the same thing is counter productive.

There's 522 versions of Linux according to this list, I'm sure that's not all of them, either. Won't it be great if you get 522 versions of Firefox too.
