Animated rotation of a PowerPoint object?

Posted on 10/08/2006 5:50:48 PM PDT by rudy45

I'm using PowerPoint 2002. I know that via custom animation, I can specify motion paths for a selected object. However, all of the motion paths, even circular and curved ones, keep the object in the same orientation (i.e. the top is always the top etc.). I'd like instead to be able to do an animated rotation of the object. Other than creating multiple copies of the object, then manually rotating each one, then specifying that they appear in sequence, is there another/easier way of doing the rotation? Thanks.

Thanks. Can I do so in PowerPoint? I checked "help," and they talk about how to INSERT an animated GIF. They don't, as far as I can tell, describe how to create one. Thanks.

MS Office used to have a program to animate gifs, but I don't think it is included in 2002. There are a number of simple programs that you can buy - you might look for free ware. Just be careful what you download.

Animated GIFs may not look good due to the 256-color limitation.

Keynote 3 can do animated transitions. It can export to PowerPoint format if you need to distribute the presentation, but I'm not sure if all special effects are supported.
