Every baseball thread gets someone who preaches this same stuff. I understand your problem with it, but it gets old. We get why you all stopped watching.
No offense, but the comments of this type usually have little to do with the discussion at hand (this thread is regarding Joe Torre), just the person ripping Major League Baseball. There are still plenty of us who DO care about it.

Of course they do. How much baseball knowledge did that guy have in his head? Why do you think Pedro tried to kill him? (joke). I think Torre used to refer to him all the time.

Pinniella as manager, what a laugh. He couldnt pour piss out of a boot if the directions were written on the bottom, let alone couch a baseball team. Show me a team he has couched that was as consistent as Torres Yankess!

I think 116 wins in 2001 is pretty "consistent", no?

I didn't ask anyone to play a sad little tune for me here in the Lone Star State... as a matter of fact I wore my NY Yankee jersey while out for a beer and a movie this evening (and yes I saw them lose on tv to a deserving Detriot Tiger team that played with a heck of a lot of heart/determination).
Obviously it will not happen this year, but I bet the Bronx Bombers win #27 before a few other MLB teams do.

Blip on the radar. The next three years average out to a .413 winning percentage.

Possibly manager of the year, lowest budget in baseball? Don't think so.

Remember, "history" don't mean sh-t in sports. Its how you perform RIGHT HERE AND NOW!
Yank-me "fans" always bring up the "history" of their team, never mind the fact that most of those wins occurred in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1970s.
Get ready for the Yankees of 1979-1992: Competative to second division, but never getting the brass ring.

If you've got the numbers up, check out Lou's overall W/L tenure with the M's, who were probably worse than Tampa Bay when he started.

Can you guarantee 100% that your team's players are drug-/'roid-free?
If so, pour me a tall glass of that Kool Aid you're drinkin', but not before I finish a shot of Johnny Walker Blue.
