Torre probably quit more than he was fired. He looked tired.
I like Torre, the guy is all class and the reason that pre A-Rod, I rooted for the Yankees in the playoffs. I don't think anyone could have done a better job in that madhouse.

Never say never. If they can get A-Rod and have the Yanks pay a huge chunk of his salary, it just may happen.
What is A-rod owed on his current salary?
He would have to do something about those purple lips before they let him into Fenway.

With my Giants, I can only look forward to more mediocrity. Peter Macgowan had better be on the phone to Joe Torre this very morning.

Yes, I could go with that choice. Unfortunately it is not yet confirmed that Joe has been fired (at least as far as I have seen as of this time).

They got Tino, but we got "The Bone" :>)
Edgar was in a league all by himself. I was at the game where they honored him with the "Edgar Martinez Designated Hitter" award.

Shows you how much credibility the Daily News and ESPN have.
Only the New York Post got this right all along. But hey, eveybody knows they're not credible.
To: S.S. Monkeyface
Yeah. No doubt ESPN was breathless with anticipation at being the first to announce Joe's firing.
Oh well. Another victim of the drive-by media.
