Yankees down to their last 27 outs!
Posted on 10/06/2006 9:02:44 PM PDT by ElTiante
Ok Seriously.
I've never been a fan of the guy, but wow did Rogers look sharp tonight. 7 2/3, 0 runs, 8K. He really had something to prove tonight and did he ever.
A-Fraud AKA Mr March, went 0-3 and is batting .125 for the series.
Watching the Yankees lose NEVER GETS OLD!

I think A-Rose in the quiet NL would be a match made in heaven.

I just wish we had some telemetry on Steinbrenner's blood pressure right about now.

I agree with you. I was one who had the yanks written off in may. No one could forsee how well they would do with the loss of matsui and sheff. I just think george is frustrated and will do something rash. Plus you have to think dealing with the pressure of being the Yanks manager this long has to have take a serious mental and physical toll on Torre.

That's the shot I saw! $200 million but no Championship

Steinbrenner ain't happy, for sure. But a least he wants to win. Maybe we can get him to buy the Lions from the Ford family.

I frequent a baseball newsgroup where many of the regular posters are Statlanders.
Statlanders don't believe in the effects of 'chemistry'. They don't believe in it and even scoff at it.
I consider myself one of the Dugout Boyz.
We realize Leyland and Rodgers are 'connected'. How else can you explain the Florida Marlins' WS ring? Leyland is a charmed genius.
A manager gets 110% out of a veteran all star pitcher like Kenny Rodgers.
How else do you explain his hitting 93 mph on the clock when his normal fastball tops out at 82 to 85?
It completely baffled the Yankee lineup...which leads me to my other claim about the Game.
Pitching is everything in a short series. EVERYTHING!

They just showed Damon laughing and joking in the dugout. Not good for him.

and another shot of a dejected Brian Cashman.

The Yanks are the best team period. As I write this, there are two out in the seventh, and the Tigers lead 8-1. Unless that glorious history pro-rates them eight runs, it ain't gonna help 'em now -- just like it didn't in Boston in the ninth in game three two years back.

6 stressful outs. The Yanks are still the Yanks. They are capable of coming to life and scoring 8 runs in an inning. Keep them quiet in the 8th, I'll feel better. Bonderman is awesome.

Leyland has a bullpen he can send out to pitch. He just better use it and not pull a Grady Little.

Yeah, actually I'd like to see some of that 103 mph stuff. I hope he sends in Zumaya in the 9th, but didn't he pitch 2 innings yesterday? :(
The way Bonderman's going this might be a complete game.

The Skanks sure have the ole choke down pretty good now. Gotta love that Curse of the A-Rod.
