Ohio woman dies after fight dislodges breathing tube; man charged Associated Press Wednesday, October 4, 2006 MASSILLON, Ohio A man was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of a woman whose tracheotomy tube was dislodged during a shoving match, police said.
Lois Wisenbarger, 56, died on Monday night after Michael Danby II shoved Wisenbarger's husband into her ventilation machine, dislodging the tube, Perry Township police said.
The Stark County coroner's preliminary report showed Wisenbarger died of asphyxia.
Danby, 19, of Magnolia, also was charged with aggravated burglary and assault, Police Chief Tim Escola said. He was being held in the Stark County jail on $50,000 bond late yesterday.
Mitchell Wisenbarger said the fight grew from an argument over housework he had earlier in the day with Amanda DaSilva, an 18-year-old living with the couple, her legal guardians.
Danby, the teen's boyfriend, went to the couple's home a few hours later and barged inside, police said.
Police said Mitchell Wisenbarger called 911 and tried to perform CPR on his wife, who was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Lois Wisenbarger had a history of medical problems and had received the tracheotomy in February, her husband said.
This is tragic.
If the punk is found guilty -- fry him.
Horrible way to die...
I don't see what's so funny when some smart ass punk starts shoving people around and a woman dies.
I agree, it's not funny. But it is bizarre enough to warrant a "holy crap" reaction. Gallows humor.
Agreed. But in this state he would have been toast for defending his home.
He should have been taught that immediately after she received the tracheotomy. All Family members of Home Care patients should know how.
It sounds as though he could have made a convincing argument that he was defending his and his wife's life, not his property. Hopefully, that is still tolerated in Ohio.
Jr. is going away for a long time. Wonder how soon we will be hearing the cries about how he was an "honor student"?
If the intruder had no weapon I think the homeowner is going to be in a world of trouble. Unfortunately, this isn't Texas.
He was yelling that he was going to kill us. I thought he must be high on drugs. I told him to stop three times. I was scared for my life. He gave me no choice.
The courts have done that for years.
