Yeah, sounds Goth to me, too. Hard to tell who the real sicko here is, I think. And the mother...nonchalant about 6 human skulls? Creepy.

It's a Satanist thing. Such an object is known among self-styled practitioners of "black magick" as a "Hand Of Glory."

It is a talisman and it has ritual significance as well.
