Man Dies Trying To Take Street Sign

A man in Orange County, Fla., died over the weekend after he tried to rip out a street sign, according to a Local 6 News report.
Sheriff's deputies said the man somehow cut himself while yanking out the sign near his home at the University House apartments.
"It appears he underestimated the severity of the wound," Local 6's Todd Jurkowski said. "He went home and was found dead in his apartment Sunday."
The man's identity was not released.

I feel bad about this. Poor guy prolly had to take the whole sign including post cuz the sign itself was prolly welded to the post.
They started doing that right after I finished my 1st college career, with a minor in 'City Limits' sign stealing... hey, I still have an Earth, Texas sign! ;>)

Coincidentally, today I saw photos of a dead thief who was trying to steal electrical cable. His left arm was blown off close to the elbow, exit wound near his pelvis. Too bad he cut into a live wire. No blood at all, the electricity cauterized the traumatic amputation.
Thieves are not smart.
