A favorite pix of mine.. What do you REALLY see?

The following is a picture taken of camels in the desert. It is considered one of the best pictures of the year. Look closely, the camels are the little white lines in the picture. You are looking directly down on the camels. The black you see is just the shadows.

My brother was stationed in Pentagon on a couple occasions. What I recall was the LONG echo-y hallways.

I had an idea for a weekend thread, but I can't remember what it was. In any case, I have a new addition to my home.

This little one is a crested gecko. They are native to New Caledonia, an island northeast of Australia. They had been identified and reported in the late 1800's and then were not seen again until 1994. For all of those years, science believed that they were extinct. In 1994, a few were found, and then the researchers realized that they were plentiful. A relatively small number were collected to start captive breeding, and they've become one of the most popular pet lizards of the past decade.

They don't begin to show evidence of sexual organs until they are four to six months old. I think this one is about three months old. I need to ask the breeder to be sure. I'm not going to name him/her until I know its sex.

THEY should call them pot assigneds.

THEY told me once to bring a salad. I didn't want to bring a salad. But THEY are THEY aren't they? So I brought a salad. I made it with beans and whipped cream. Cherry Licorice and Root beer Jelly Bellys. THEY said it was weird but when it was over it was all gone. THEY say if it's gone it was good!

You know, for a long as Freerepublic has been around, and for how many hundreds of thousands of members there are, I'm surprised there is no freeper dating service. Even Hannity has Hannidate. We have to think about the future, for the next generation of freepers.

Am I the only one who thinks this? Or is there something already in place?

Oh, wow. Thanks so much for putting the explanation to that picture. I've seen that on another site that just said there was something about it....but I could never figure out the catch. I thought the white long things were crocodiles (inexplicitly crossing sand) and somehow the photographer put camel silhouettes in there? Geez. How stupid! Thank you for straightening me out!
