Yes, I know.. 81 to 77 was the route I took from my parents here to school in Johnson City. Gorgeous area....all the TVA projects. I was living in Winston Salem at the time but went to JCity for my cluster classes. Took three on two consecutive days. I had ill parents & so made regular trips & fed the WV turnpike commission

(no everyone, he is still a HE!!!)
I need to rest for a little bit. Leaving shortly for football game & maybe a movie afterward. I need a nap. Was up til about 3 last night (another late night out) and had to get up early at 7 to put out the garbage.

I was switched to the office in Rosslyn (Virginia) today so I'm not actually in the Pentagon anymore. Still with the Department of Defense though. I was initially really upset about the switch but I really like the people in my new office. And I actually got to do stuff today instead of reading websites and papers. I didn't go to any of the 9/11 things cuz by the time I got to leave, my ankle was killing me and I just wanted to go home. My ankle has actually been getting better though. I've actually managed to walk to Union Station the past three days instead of taking a cab. So everything's going pretty well. I have a stack of papers on my desk for Monday. Someone's supposed to show me what to do with them. I never got to see Rummy though one of the women in my first office had a picture taken with him and I got to see that. I did, however, see Senator Sessions this morning crossing the street. I didn't want to look like a freak and yell out to him though so I just kinda stared at him lol.

I had an idea for a weekend thread, but I can't remember what it was. In any case, I have a new addition to my home.

This little one is a crested gecko. They are native to New Caledonia, an island northeast of Australia. They had been identified and reported in the late 1800's and then were not seen again until 1994. For all of those years, science believed that they were extinct. In 1994, a few were found, and then the researchers realized that they were plentiful. A relatively small number were collected to start captive breeding, and they've become one of the most popular pet lizards of the past decade.
They don't begin to show evidence of sexual organs until they are four to six months old. I think this one is about three months old. I need to ask the breeder to be sure. I'm not going to name him/her until I know its sex.

That's a great picture. They are all great-looking animals. It's neat that you've made such a great family of rescued animals.

Well, the guy told me when he hooked up my internet that there's not an antenna on this side of the building. So if I actually want a decent connection, I have to go in the hall or downstairs. But I'm still on one crutch so I don't particularly feel like hobbling downstairs or in the hall with my laptop.
