We all made a LOT of money that day & noone complained about my request. In fact they were comparing notes as to how "my kitten" ate etc. Ironic thing is that 2 of the men eventually took the kittens they nursed that day. The each named the kitten a name related to the transaction. I kept cali & gave the last one to a good friend. She was a cali look alike but with dilute colors (that means the red is cream & the black is Grey)

That's what Pansy was, a diluted calico.

I know it must be hard to have lost 2 of your pets this last year. And the last one close to your Bday, too.

But at least Pansy lived a long Life for a cat. In our years-- she would had been about 125 years old!!

Tiki is now over 10. He still seems quite healthy, and active. For now--he will be with us and bring enjoyment and such to our family. But I know that sooner or later, his time will come too. It is not something I am looking forward to.

THanks. BTW, in 2004, I did have one cat pass away on July 9th, a day after my birthday, Muffin, she was a black, Burmese cat, she was given to us mby my aunt who told us to take care of her a few days before she died form cancer in 1995. Muffin was born in 1987 like Pansy and had she lived an aextra month, would have turned 17 that year along with Pansy.

This year, we had three medical emergencies with cats, the third was Boo, one of our black cats, he got reallt sick a week and a half after Greystone passed away in April. We though he had kidney failure, liver failure or even cancer but everything seems fine at those ends so it was diagnosed as an unknown infection. We pulled him through. So we lost two, and saved one. Boo is 16 years old. He's my second oldest, he's very active and a acrobat to this day. My oldest now is Corky, 17 years old, she still is kind of fat with her holding her weight despite her age, she, along with Boo and G.W., (Greystone slept with me too), I feel like I'm sharing the bed with a bunch of fat manatees. B-) Boos isn't fat though, he's very athletic.

Am I the only one who thinks this? Or is there something already in place?

Several couples have met on FR, but I don't think that we have anything official. I thought that we were still between 100,000 and 150,000 members, and some of those are "repeats" or have long since left. If you see someone you like, you still have to make the approach yourself. I've never really felt a romantic connection to anyone here, but I rarely read profiles. Apparently, not reading profiles is unusual because everyone else seems to read profiles.

Not a bad idea but the "powers that be" I understand were not too excited about the prospect of a singles thread to begin with & all the problems it might unfold (we have had a couple already)

I guess what it would take is someone to DO IT. The know how, administrative skill, legal aspects,HTML computer skills etc.

If JimRob did NOT want it to be officially part of FR maybe we could be an official "cousin".

I didn't know Hannity had a matchmaker set up as such. I would like to incorporated related links in the openings on a regular basis. Some of the conservative dating sites, the Hannity site.

Please send me or post any of the links you have oK/

Thanks for stopping by . I am normally sparse in posting weekend nights.. glad I have a busy social life but I feel I neglect the visitors to the thread, such as yourself.

yes, Cali's name is because she is a calico. Not terribly original, is it?

Most people initially think it means I am from California

Had I linked my state I would have been Dolly_OH maybe?

got your FReepmail & responded.

RE:not reading profile pages.. I think Engineers tend to not be that detail oriented re: other people & that is why you prolly don't check profile pages. I go to them frequently & am always disappointed when people don't have ANYYTHING written or not even their state.

There is a bit of caution on the Internet for sure that is needed but somehow I get a bit suspicious of someone who can't give a few little "GENERAL" ideas about who they are etc.

not really sure of the membership. There were a lot of hard feelings wiht the Terri S death & then the pope.. Many left who weren't banned. People just got too hot & lost their civility.

Many people have multiple screen-names, although this is not supposed to be the case. Jim has ISP numbers & if someone is banned their number goes on a list that will NOT be given a membership

I would bet there are at least 100,000 active posting members & many more lurkers.. you know, the "just don't have time or interest to post" types.

we really do get attached to these fuzzy friends of ours. Like our own kids. When they die or (to me) worse yet "disappear", part of your soul is just empty.

I still cry regularly & get VERY DOWN regarding the loss of oliver. for 4 years he was my bud.. went everywhere with me & well, I cant write more as the waterfall is already starting again.

All, this was sent to me via Email by FReeper GretchenM.. it is a hoot (IMHO).. here is her note:

@@@

At the following link you will find a (to me) absolutely hilarious phone message that one man left on a friend's answering machine, that was played on a radio program, "Roger, Rick, and Marilyn Morning Show Bits". It's a lesson in 1) Don't Mess with Texas, and 2) Don't Mess with Texas' Women.

I laughed hard -- it's got some mildly PG language.

Starwise, I stole borrowed your music for use on the singles thread. I am not accomplished (understatement of week) with finding, posting music & do go to various sites, often the canteen to use it. I love the canteen & go there frequently even though I only post occasionally. I play the music when I am home evenings. I am sure it is nice for the troops that visit/lurk
