It's the midterms(all the trolls and doom-and-gloomers), and it seems that ATRW General Hospital is operating overtime. I know I've been feeling under the weather the last few days, though I have a sunny disposition on what will happen November 7. ;^)
Guess he scared 'em off or something.;^)
.....and.............hope you're right about November.......
Well, my favorite Chocolate Temptress, I guess it's you and me, at least until 10, when "House" comes on. Then it's off to watch TV and then go to sleep.
BTW: John, when it comes to salsa, I prefer to stick with Pace, but in a tight spot I can make my own. ;^)
Just a bug that was going around, and I happened to pick it up. I'm feeling a little better today, though. It would help if the weather would cool off a little and I could shut down the AC and open the windows.
Yum! You wicked temptress! ;^)
Enjoy "House." :)
I'm sure he'll be missing his family and Katie too! You can have a later party when he gets back.
I find these Columbine "also's" very disturbing. I think the media made too much of it when it happened and a whole culture has grown from it.
I know what you mean on the convenience of bagged lettuce. I particulary liked the bagged caeser salad that had the bag of dressing with it. But no more. I heard a doctor on Fox today telling ol' Shep that he, well actually his wife, scrubs each spinach leaf with a toothbrush. Frankly, I don't like spinach enough to go through that trouble.
Back to the TV.:)
Lots of interesting stories and great memories. Part II is tmorrow night.
Off to check the news and then bed...will see you all tomorrow.
I always enjoy the Friday night party before the REAL class reunion on Saturday.. It's just more fun. I don't know why.
I'm just returning from the grand opening of Iowa's 'Nascar' track. It was cold and I wasn't dressed properly. I took our 8 yr old grandson. When he got cold and asked to come home I grabbed his hand and headed for the car. The race wasn't even half over yet.
I'll go back sometime in the summer time when I don't have to worry about getting cold.
Good Morning. Tomorrow is Constitution Day
Charles Krauthammer on taking out Iran
Krauthammer's projections...scary food for thought.
Good morning.
Glad you had fun at the reunion gathering last night, Jane.
Bet you were the BELLE of the Ball!!!!!!
Would soaking those veggies in an iodine or chlorox solution for about 20 minutes, followed by a good rinse with clear clean water, remove that bacteria?
Over here those are methods 2 & 3 for cleaning our veggies. The preferred method of sanitizing our raw veggies is to soak them in a solution of PK for 20 minutes followed by a rinse. I've been doing that for the past 10 years and have never had a problem.
I don't know that the PK stands for. I'm assuming since we buy it at a drugstore that it is the chemical symbol for these crystals.
Good morning! I am glad that you enjoyed yourself at the reunion. I am sorry for your friends. Having been gone from Wisconsin to Mississippi, I bet they have some adjustments to the winter! Enjoy part II.
Dive report. You ought to be glad you weren't here. It was not the best experience I ever had.
To begin with, I had to tell a guy who wanted an intro dive that he couldn't go. Then, when we got out to the dock, the boat owners got in a big fight over who could drive the foreign tourists out to the beach.
That got settled. We got the drunk guy.
As we were loading the boat, one of our divers took a wrong step and put his foot through one of the boards on deck, made a massive swelling and indentation in his scrapped calf. We got him sitted immediately, raised his leg and applied pressure and ice. Then, it was decided his dive was scraped and he had to return to town. Another one of the divers went with him to drive the car.
I came out in that car but that affects us later.
As we were heading out to the beach, the clouds which were gathering on the hill, descended to the bay and just let loose. It came down in big heavy drops. We tried to adjust our stuff so that our change of clothes, food, and towels would stay dry. The rain continued. As we arrived at the beach, the tide was out. So of course the boat owner went in as far as he could, scraping the coral along the way. We still about 30 yards offshore and had to carry all the stuff through the water. It was still raining.
I'll take a break now and continue the story in a few.
