Apple rolls out new iPod shuffle
Mathew Honan - Playlist Tue Sep 12, 4:37 PM ET
Speaking at a special press event in San Francisco on Tuesday, Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced a new version of the companys iPod shuffle, featuring a smaller enclosure and a new connection for charging and transfering music.
Following anouncements of new configurations to the 5G iPod and iPod nano, the shuffle represents a refresh to Apples entire product line.
Half the size of its predcessor, the new iPod shuffle holds 1GB of music, and looks like a smaller version of the Apple Remote. The aluminum enclosure now sports a built-in clip to attach easily to clothing.
The headphone jack also serves as the connection to connect and charge the shuffle. Apple reports that the new shuffle will have up to 12 hours of battery life when fully charged.
Apple is referring to the new shuffle as the worlds smallest digital music player.
The new iPod shuffle costs $79, and will be available starting in October.

Eventually, they will be able to build the iPod inside the headphone jack. Then nobody will be able to figure out where to plug the jack in.
Too many iPods! Stop already!
Do I smell an out-of-court settlement?
You haven't heard of the iPod Flea, eh?
P.S: If you can, download the free video. It's hilarious!
I'm more interested in the new iTunes. I didn't find out until I got to work, so I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I'll do it later on after work, or perhaps first thing in the morning (which for me is damn near the afternoon)...
This Friday, my dentist is going to install the iPod Mercury in my #17 molar.
