I'm pulling my hair out trying to find a word and it's definition. Help?

I should have scanned before posting.
But what fun would that be?

I hated that word. It was SO overused. And improperly used. Like "reengineering" (a good idea that was destroyed by improper definitions).

I once worked at a major nyc law firm and the head of the computer litigation support department wasn't too bright. Basically she had been kicking around for over 20 years and they kept kicked her to this department for a few difficult years.
Anyway, I was once in attendance at a meeting where she consistently used the word 'paradigm' and consistently pronounced it as 'pair-a-dig-em.'
So much for top shelf legal help.

I'm writing a novel. The working title is The Paradigm of the Parapalegic Paramecium.

The Paradigm of the Parapalegic Paramecium. "Call me Pauly. Pauly Pendragon Paramecium. I'm a bit pudgy and drink peach pear paratifs. Then I get punchy. I am proof preparation predicts proper placement in postal employment."

How did you keep from falling on the floor laughing? You must have chewed your lip all the way through.

Phylum-filled, fantastic fantasy!

Haha! I built up a good resistance when dealing with her. Otherwise, I would have been laughing all the time!
In other words, not the sharpest knife in the drawer. ;-)

Lightweight. You won't make it past middle-management until you start mis-using "proactive".

My favorite word: "Defenestration: a throwing of a person or thing out of a window" That's my favorite, too...been loving it ever since a friend in my freshman dorm put out "20 words to better English papers" that we all tried to fit into our writing until the next edition came out...guaranteed to impress the T.A. grading the paper. He became an editor of a major magazine in Europe and I became a newspaper editor for a while, so I guess it was helpful. :-)
