I usually hate piling onto misery, but Smith was a trainwreck of a human during his early childhood. Her son seemed - well - normal in comparison the freak show going on around his mom. I halfway expected him to go a different path than his mother, maybe forgo some of the traps she fell into. Very sad.
Prayers up for her and the rest of her family. :(

I for one offer prayers for the family. This is the worst pain a human can endure -- the loss of a child.
I can't imagine but it happened in my family (to who would have been my older brother and again for who would have been my younder brother) -- my Mom grieved until her dying day.
No one "deserves" that pain. No one.
Anna Nicole Smith's son dies at hospital bedside

NASSAU, Bahamas (Reuters) - Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son died suddenly at her bedside in a Bahamian hospital where the former Playboy Playmate was recovering from the birth of a daughter, police said on Monday.
Daniel Smith was found sitting upright in a chair in his mother's room at the private Doctors Hospital in the Bahamian capital of Nassau early on Sunday and could not be revived, police said. There were no signs of trauma on his body and no sign of a struggle in the room, police said.

I'd post a nasty reply to you, but I looked at your home page and decided that even a dumb person, if a fellow cat lover, deserved a break today.
I wouldn't normally know, but they lived here in town. I don't pay any attention to Anna Nicole if I can help it. This is just a very strange story.
I see there is a post of all we know of her son's death at this point. I can't imagine - he went straight there to her hospital room from the airport, after arriving from the States. What a terrible thing to have happen - and what a mystery.

The cause of Daniel Smith's death had not been determined Monday. The young man apparently collapsed early Sunday while sitting in a chair in his mom's maternity ward room in Doctors' Hospital in Nassau.
"It would appear from our report that the mother had gotten up, saw him in the chair and he appeared to be sound asleep," said Reginald Ferguson, assistant commissioner of the Royal Bahamian Police Force.
"She tried to wake him up, he was unresponsive, and she sounded the alarm," Ferguson said.
But the model's reps gave a different version of events. They said Daniel "had been found not breathing, in bed" Sunday morning and had "visited Anna and his new half-sister the night before he passed away," according to a statement issued by a spokeswoman for TrimSpa, the diet pill Anna Nicole Smith endorsed. ..."
Our local morning news said it is rumored to have been a massive heart attack that killed Anne Nicole's son.
I wouldn't have guessed that at age 20 - was thinking more like carbon monoxide until I heard he was in the same hospital room with ANS. Now that part is up for debate, as well.

My friend's 17 year old son died of a massive heart attack...it's not all that rare.
