I think Gottlieb broke the law, yet again, if he prepared a report, ie a timeline, and did not maintain a copy of that report. Or put another way, I don't think the prosecution can avoid the NC discovery law by throwing away evidence. If so, prosecutors would just throw away exculpatory evidence and not be involation of the NC discovery law. A Nifong then would just throw away all evidence other than what he planned to use in court.
Yeah, but it's gutless power. The jerk doesn't have the cajones to play tough with the real dirt in Durham. He's a joke; albeit a dangerous one. Hopefully, he'll get his comeuppance soon.....
Agree. A good friend of mine didn't continue to college and now earns 7 figures heading a successful corporation. Dude's a born salesman; very intelligent; worked his way to the top. Gee. Work. What a concept!
Yeah - memo to Mangum and Roberts/Pittman. I'm astonished that Roberts/Pittman went to UNC-CH, dropped out, and now we're supposed to feel sorry for her because she was denied "opportunities". (Yes, yes, sometimes people HAVE to drop out though no fault of their own, but somehow with her 'tude I don't think that was her problem.)

Gottlieb had it out for Duke Students - the stats bear that out. He finds a guy with a .45 caliber and marijuana - and he doens't get hauled to jail, yet the Duke students over 21 get hauled to jail for open container violations?
Evans got arrested, IIRC, when he was over 21 for having an open container as a PASSENGER! Most of the Captains had been drug down to jail for noise violations.
At one Duke Party - A Patty Wagon and a Huge Swat vehicle showed up and those under 18 were hit with underage drinking and those over 21 were hit with open containers and noise violations.
THIS IS CRIME INFESTED DURHAM!
I lived near a Universty at one point - and every neighbor near the University has these partying issues to some extent. They certianly did where I lived - and it wasn't Duke.
This is about as clear as it gets - In a 10 month period, 20 out of 28 of his arrests were Duke Students !
That's incredible when you consider some of the Districts he worked were housing projects with serious crimes committed daily.

For the last year of my college days, a full size theater poster of Natalie as Gypsy Rose Lee adorned my wall in a house very similar to the Duke houses described herein......except it was in Raleigh.
