SNYDER, Okla. Snyder Police Chief Tod Ozmun, Mayor Dale Moore and City Councilman Clifford Barnard are resigning in the midst of a controversy over Ozmun's wife appearing nude on a Web site.
Ozmun had said earlier he would not step down, but now says he's fed up with the controversy and that the situation has become a media circus.
Moore says he finds nothing wrong or illegal with what Ozmun's wife was doing and he doesn't want to work in what he calls "a community like this."
Barnard also says he's disgusted with the situation that's brought national media attention to the southwestern Oklahoma town of about 15-hundred.
Residents packed a City Council meeting last week to call for Ozmun to be fired because his wife _ Doris _ was on the adult Web site.
The Council at the time issued a statement saying it would take no action against the chief and that Doris Ozmun had done nothing wrong and her actions were protected by the Constitution.
Councilman Sammy Gettens resigned after that meeting.

The first story seemed to indicate that Mayor Moore wanted to fire the police chief - he asked the state Bureau of Investigation to look into the matter. This article seems to say that he did support the police chief and resigned because of the town's apparent lynch mob mentality. And it's entirely ambiguous as to whether the town councilman quit because the mayor didn't want to fire the chief or because the town did want to fire him.
Either way, I'd bet the real story is which future police chief candidate is secretly into "women of size" and found his political trump card while indulging his hobby. Who was it that commented that it's so suprising that porn is a multibillion dollar industry, considering that absolutely no one ever looks at it?
