I'll let you read from Ch 2 (which I haven't started yet) on. Ch 1 is backstory that is boring me to tears.

I doubt it's as boring as you think it is. ;-)

Seriously, often if I set something aside for six months or so, when I come back, I'm surprised that it's actually not half bad.

I don't have the same confidence in the current section of my story. Ungh. Endless dialog that goes in circles and doesn't establish what it set out to do in the first place. And the bad character being appealing and one of the main good characters being a spineless, whiny little puke. And realizing this himself and bemoaning it at length.

Ya know...one thing that always amazes me is the difference in perception between writing and reading. It takes days or weeks to write a detailed plot subsection, so you think it's boring and slow...but it only takes hours, maybe, to read it - so it moves along pretty quickly.
