Ya know...one thing that always amazes me is the difference in perception between writing and reading. It takes days or weeks to write a detailed plot subsection, so you think it's boring and slow...but it only takes hours, maybe, to read it - so it moves along pretty quickly.

That's probably true except that I've spent 11K on two day's worth of activity (the kids aren't even at the camp yet). I think when I edit this I'll start at Ch. 2 (they get to camp) and work in some of the Ch 1 activities as asides as in:

'I guess I'm getting used to the altitude. I'm not as out of breath as I was at the airport in Denver. I thought I was going to fall over and die just walking to the buses. The advisors knew what they were doing when they scheduled two days of day hikes and touring to help us get acclimated.'

Oh my goodness. I just re-wrote Ch 1 in four sentences.

Ack.
