Self inflicted cluelessness. What is the line from Lord of the Rings that Merry says to Frodo. Something like, "you won't save the Shire by being shocked and dismayed." Mark Steyn says that a nation that will not fight for itself has already lost. Sometimes I think that we have lost. Not only here in Israel but in the US as well.
