So, yesterday (actually all last week) was another bad week for Nana. Her back was bothering her. So, yesterday morning, interestingly not until it was ~almost~ time for us to get up, we heard her crying about her back.
She wanted to go to the ER to get a muscle relaxer. But wife said, "remember what happened the last time you went to the ER. They made you sick because they don't know your medical history."
Wife ended up staying home from church just in case. After we were already gone Nana called downstairs and said she needed a pain pill. Wife said, "come and get it."
When she ~finally~ came down, she sat down and expected wife to bring it to her.
Wife said, "Every time I take you to the Dr. he tells you that if you don't move, you're going to hurt. I'm not going to wait on you. I'm going to make you move."
Nana said, "Well then, you should just put me away."
Wife said, "I'm not ready for that. If you want to go to a Nursing Home, I'll bring you the phone book and you can find one and set it up. But I'm not willing to do that. I'm trying to get you well."
There was a good deal of silence after that.
But she came down for lunch. Ate well. And at least twice yesterday she did her walking through the house exercise that she hasn't done for months.
So, there's that.

Ooop - wrong forum.
You guys are doing well to encourage her to stay mobile, I'm sure it's hard, when you're achy anyway, to force yourself to move. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Tough love. ;-)
Ya know... My physical therapist told me today that "Curing people is no fun. it's bad for business."
Heh.
Good for 'not Valerie'!
