Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good Morning HH, It's FRIDAY.
That is a great set of poop pics. The 'fire tornado' very seriously cool picture.
Otters were reintroduced here in MO a number of years ago and have rapidly multiplied. Really neat to see them along the streams in the Ozarks. Having them on your doorstep, awesome.

Here is a weird story:
"Woman Punches "Aggressive" Otter as it Attacks Dog"
by Underwatertimes.com News Service
"Boca Raton, Florida (Aug 4, 2006 18:09 EST) A woman said she was walking her two dogs near the water when an aggressive otter attacked one of her dogs, yanking it into the water.
Leah Vanon of west Boca Raton, said she was walking her Labrador retriever and her fox terrier, when she saw four otters in the water. She and the dogs kept going, but one of the otters climbed out of the water and grabbed the lab. When the otter pulled the dog into the water, Vanon jumped in after it.
Vanon said the terrier then jumped into the water and the otter went after the small dog. Vanon said she started punching the otter and didn't stop until it let go of the dog.
The dogs were not seriously injured. There was no immediate explanation for why the otter was behaving so aggressively.
Florida otters are typically 3 to 4 feet long and can weigh up to 25 pounds.
In 2001, an otter in New Port Richey, Fla., dragged a 5-year-old dog into a lake and killed it. There was also no explanation for that attack.
Otters normally live on a diet of shellfish and fish and are nonagressive."

Well, hopefully I will never get to see a fire tornado up close...waterspouts are already enough of a nuisance. Here's one in the Keys.

BTW, the beginning should not be seen by anyone either... I hope you can catch it sometime :~)
To: Sam Cree
Interesting, I don't think the ~reason~ for the attack is all that mysterious... They're wild animals, dogs went after them and they chose the first of the 'fight or flight' options!
Tough lady :~) Tougher than her labrador :~)
Good morning!

Doesn't look like a pronouncible name! Is the first character really an X?
The pony should get a name one of these days...
