Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeah. Didn't do it yesterday because I went shopping...didn't want to get iced in without toilet paper and coffee not to mention cat food.

I'm out of cat food, and it's supposed to snow tonight.
Ruh-roh. Better stop on the way home, or bad things could happen.

Does Tam know that the kidney is the only part of the human body which is safe to eat without cooking?

See, if we got stranded in a blizzard for days we would just have to lock the dogs and the cats in a room together and see who survived. My money's on Beta-cat.

It's currently 78 degrees here ... but the front is extending a "tail" this way, and we have "popcorn" rainstorms streaming from south to north ... I expect the winds to start shifting soon.
DaBear is going to the store this evening ...

Would it be Nano-cheating to add the start of a short story that's totally and completely unrelated to the file my NaNovel is in to count the words? Because I've had two short story ideas in the last hour, one the 'filling out' of an idea-without-a-plot that I can't figure out if it's original to me or not (alien traders buy our art. On the way out of the system, they blow up the sun to provide their ship with propulsion) and one that popped into my head while listening to Christmas music. ("Now In Flesh Appearing". Two guys, a time machine, a video camera, and Bethlehem)

I'm the last person to give advice on cheating. ;-) This whole month has been one big cheat. Though...I could have cheated more if I'd included notes in my word count. Mebbe I should add them.
Argh...in other news, UPS still hates me. Had a package to be delivered today, and though they know to take Hair and Ecurbh's stuff to the store, they apparently have no clue what to do with my packages. If I can't find a way to leave a note for them tomorrow in a place where they actually FIND it, they may send that package back.

Can't you get off early and go get it? I think the UPS facility is at Air Industrial by the airport.
To: RosieCotton
Oh - and we have your dog again... I filled his dog house with fresh straw, but he was actin' all pathetic when I went to take our dogs back home, so I let him come back with us.
It wasn't me he missed, it was the dogs. :~)

How do you go about picking stuff up there? Do you have to call and ask about it?

UPS should leave a note on your door that you'd take there. Or maybe if you have the package tracking number...
