Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yeah, I'd be expecting him to say "The name is Gray... Gandalf the Gray."

With Connery as the "Mr. Franchise" of the movie, LOTR might have never made it beyond some test shots. They say he's a decent actor to work with, when sober. But anybody with an ego (and actors have lots of ego, and not much else) and a 25% cut of the take has the ability to kill the entire enterprise.

I think PJ backed up his ego by leading by example. He put in more work than anybody else, and convinced everyone else that this really was about creating one of the great movies of all time based on one of the greatest novels of all time. If he was getting a percentage on top of that (and probably was, considering the audit he wants), at least people knew he was out there busting his butt right along with them, and not just resting on a famous name to bring in the billions.

Hehehe

Last year, sister-in-law bought the turkey. The weekend after T day, we bought a turkey breast 'cause we didn't get leftovers.

Still no phone call.

On the bright side, I now have bourbon, Baileys, an office chair, and two new Rex Stout books. So life isn't *too* bad.

Well, if they aren't answering the phone, at least they aren't hopefully selling it to someone else either.

Too late now for today, we'll see if/when they call.

Still aggravating, though. Whatever the reason. And it's starting to drizzle again.

Oh well.

Done with thinking about it for today, anyway.

Yeah - we gotta go do horses here in a bit.

It's supposed to rain like heck tonight, but tomorrow is 'decreasing'... If they're flexible about when, we can get it home. How tall is the opening in your van? :~)

Hmmm. Turkey pot pie. Wouldn't have thought to combine those two ingredients....

Well...right now the back door of the van doesn't want to unlock. I played with it for awhile on the way to pick up the chair, but it just wasn't going. Ended up putting the chair across the back seats.

Otherwise...yeah, that might could work. Would have to measure it to be sure, I guess.

Mmmm...Maker's Mark. OK, so it's a little early, but I had to just *taste* it, doncha know.

Found a different one, I think - on Cooper Point, by the Goodwill. Wasn't really looking for one, but I stopped by the Goodwill for just a sec and it was there.
