Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing
Please look down upon the Roseannadanna household
Bring peace to our fathers, good health to our mothers
And please don't make me sweat like Dr. Joyce Brothers! ...LOL!! Just unforgettable! I sing that every year, at least once. I used to always sing it to our Pastor, too, because he always called me Susannadanna.

DANG!! They cut it off just before the funniest line!
The writers in the early days of SNL were just the best, and that first cast was the perfect vehicle for their words. The show has never been better than those first three or four years.
The show debuted the day we got married!

Just got my turkey in the oven about 1/2 hour ago; we'll eat about 6. I did get the Cranberry Sauce done last night, and got the dressing together to put in the slow cooker. Woke up this morning to yummy aromas! Still have to cook the sweet potatoes and green beans for their respective casseroles. Those will go into the oven when the turkey comes out to rest.
We're sitting here right now watching the history of the hot dog on the History Channel. Amazing what you can find on TV. We're waiting for Paul to come in. It has been raining since about 2am, and it looks to continue all day.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you, and everyone else in the HH!
We've got stalls clean and humans bathed and dressed and dogs loaded and we're about to head up to the beach house. Talk to everyone later!

Amazing what you can find on TVEspecially on the History Channel and its Discovery Channel cousin. They are like the Internet though, you can't take everything they show as gospel, when they get into shows about UFOs and US government plots to kill JFK!

So true; they do get into a bit of conjecture now and then.
Happy Thanksgiving to you! Do you have family visiting? Our #1 son drove over from Boston for the evening, but has to get back because he's having a new sofa delivered first thing in the morning. And our youngest, our #3 son, who is still in high school, is here, too. Our #2 son stayed in Austin, and our daughter stayed in Naples for Thanksgiving. Both will be home in a few weeks for Christmas, so they opted to stay at school for the holiday.

Funny...there was almost no rain up north...but it was here waiting when I got past Olympia. *sigh*
On the bright side, because of the rain I left Cisco in the house when I headed up, and he was apparently a perfect angel - nothing out of place. What a gooooood dog! Wish he was always that good.

Good! It'd be really nice if he can now get to an age where he can be trusted in the house. Makes it a lot easier.
To: HairOfTheDog
I'd be more impressed if he hadn't shredded a box when I left him in last Sunday. Still...he's gotten better!

I left music on for him this time around...can't recall if I did that last time or not. It probably makes no difference, but....

No family except on the phone and the net. My daughter is in Philadelphia, my brother is in Poughkeepsie, NY, my sister is in Seattle, and I have cousins I don't know well spread all around the trans-Mississippi west.
Kind of isolated here in Florida!

We leave the TV on for Gidget when we leave :~)

Well, I'm glad you're here with us, LCS, although I'm wiped out... not sure I'm gonna be able to stay awake till 7!
To: RosieCotton
It probably makes no differenceI've found that leaving the TV set on keeps my dogs company. I think it is the human voices and the motion observable on the screen that does it.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We just got back from dinner with my mother's family and had a great visit. We all have so much to be thankful for but I think Gnad has it summed up for us as well.
He's been suh gracious tuh me... Blessed me with a Savior, a loving family, beautiful homestead, great country, and kind-hearted friends...
