Unnnnngh. I hate Mondays.

At least it's a short week.

Ouch... I can relate...

I smashed a thumb in a steel watertight door once. Right at the base of the nail. Ow... it hurts just remembering it. It was over ten years until the nail grew out properly again.

Back bedroom, bathroom, and back hallway mopped. Kitchen 3/4 mopped (realized after I had mixed it that I'd used the wrong chemical for wood floors but the right one for vinyl). Bedroom 1/3 mopped. I'm doing the "shove everything into the corner and mop, let it dry, then move it back and do that part" method. And I need a new mop head. Good thing the grocery store is two minutes away.

Hmm, perhaps I should get some breakfast too.

Unnngh. I hate auditors... I woke up to about ten or twelve emails from one of the sox auditors sent ~last night~, requesting various documents. Yeesh... don't these people ever take a day off? This follows a bunch they sent on Saturday too.

[sigh]

Apparently they aren't human. Never need time off or sleep. Sox droids, they are.

I'm still working on waking up.

And reading about all that work is making me sleepy...

You probably noticed that my cleaning goes in phases... I'll be very lazy for a while, then a lot better for a while. I'm entering a domestic phase right now which hopefully Talon will appreciate :-) The Christmas tree, which needs series decorating, is helping. It's making me get in touch with my inner Martha Stewart.

Good morning, HH!

I had a great weekend. We worked on the sawhorses.

I probably won't get the blog updated today, we have Tgiving lunch with Steve at his work.

Try not to be too disappointed. Heh heh!

I need a domestic phase...this place is a jumble.

I'm thinking of fixing the extra bedroom up as an office - with a real desk, with drawers for ink and paper and stuff. And the wireless doesn't reach in there. Which would make it a good place to do nothing but read and write...

We'll see. There are tons of cheap desks on Craigslist, so it wouldn't be hard to figure something out.

Good morning!

~sip~

It looks like a nice clear sunny morning!

One thing I do like about this place is that weather is hard to predict. They always say rain is possible, but sometimes it doesn't :~)

Weathermen have a pretty easy gig here in the winter - just keep predicting rain, and they'll be right enough of the time to get away with it.

They probably don't actually do any work during the winter.

I was text messaging the wife (who was still at rehearsal) from the ER. Last thing I sent her was:

His hand is okay. Ace bandage and ice. We're waiting to be discharged and the old lady in the bed next to us has the farts.

Jr. and I were giggling like middle schoolers. It was good father/son time.

Whew, got the bedroom finished and the living room 2/3rds done. I want it to dry really thoroughly though so I will probably just leave it as is. And I found a place to board the puppies. We left it kind of last minute so it took me calling ten places but they're set up.

Having one room set off as an office is really nice. Of course ours is designed as Computing Central but the concept is sort of the same.

Well, I have a more optimistic view of it... they can always predict rain, and if they're wrong and it's sunny, no one will ever mind! -Not like if they predicted sun and it rained.

And I think they do a lot of work in winter! There's a huge difference between scattered showers, periods of rain, drizzle turning to rain, and rain turning to showers ;~)
