Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Little bit windy, but nuthin big yet. It's raining lightly. I hear that's gonna change. Neato.

Oh well... I'm in cleaning mode this week. I got a letter from the property management that they're coming on Friday to do an inspection. Neato. I've made some progress, but there's a long ways to go. Especially outdoors. [sigh]

Heh...my neighbors all decided to get their leaves up yesterday.

Now I look like the neighborhood slob.

Whoa!! The wind just blew our flag down. Joshua called me and said "The flag's touching the ground!" (A big no-no.) I ran out to get it and the wind had bent the pole with it still in the bracket! I had to bend it back up to pull it out!

Now my neighbor's trash can has blown into the street. Not a little one...one of those big "dumpster" type!

She's not home...I better go put it away.

I don't wanna go out in this!!!

I'm series...my Aerostar is like a big box...the wind catches it and pushes it all around. I rarely go out when there's these kinds of wind gusts!

Ack, maybe it'll calm down by the time I have to take Joshua to his speech therapy!

I know the feeling, my little bronco felt like a big sail too. I'll give you the same advice I gave Rosie, follow a semi truck. If they don'w blow over, you won't either :~)

What gets me are the lulls between strong gusts. I'll be fighting the week like crazy and when the wind stops, it's easy to accidentally steer wrong.

But I made it.

I've had that happen. Unnerving!

Just went out and checked on a dove that was just sitting all hunkered down in our driveway. I thought maybe it was hurt, but it flew off.

Heh. Monday, crossing the bridge, the winds were strong and gusty maybe 30-35 knots. I found out though, that there is another advantage to that Commander. IIRC it weighs in right around 5,000lbs. Even though it has those big flat sides, it did ~not~ move in the wind. Not one bit. Heh. It's a freakin' tank.

Hey... gotta have sumpthin' positive to make up for having such crummy gas mileage. :-)

That's a good thing! My bronco had similar sail area, but it was really light!

I've seen them stop semi trucks short of the Narrows when the winds are bad. That's a good clue that one ought to be wary :~)

I don't need to tell you to take pictures if you do go anywhere at all...

How long have we been friends? ;~)

I think our tsunami petered out.

Thanks.

:-)

I reckon most everyone finds it boring...so I was pretty surprised to hear from that lady in Ireland. She said she'd been following it for a while!

Heh!

That radio, btw, is made by Motorola and if it works is worth about $150.
