Affirmative. Mag sells theirs for $20, and you need a particular one depending on the number of batteries in your light. The Nite Ize (I converted my three C and D Maglites) are $10, and adjust automatically for voltage.

You can do it. I did 7800 yesterday and little bit today on my novel... so for you, it is will be easy as pie. (That is an expression I've never understood)
Pie is pretty easy to make, depnding on what kind it is.
