Thanks!
If I ever really do anything with this story...I need to discard about the last week's worth, but I guess for NaNo purposes...
Like I said earlier, I tend to get really locked into writing every single day's activities, when only a handful of days really matter.
Ungh...I am not awake.
I think the first year I did a few days where I thought I was gonna quit...but you *can* write 4k in a day. Just isn't easy.
Checked out your excerpt, by the way. You'll have to let us read the whole story if you get it finished!
I'll let you read from Ch 2 (which I haven't started yet) on. Ch 1 is backstory that is boring me to tears.
I doubt it's as boring as you think it is. ;-)
Seriously, often if I set something aside for six months or so, when I come back, I'm surprised that it's actually not half bad.
I don't have the same confidence in the current section of my story. Ungh. Endless dialog that goes in circles and doesn't establish what it set out to do in the first place. And the bad character being appealing and one of the main good characters being a spineless, whiny little puke. And realizing this himself and bemoaning it at length.
Ya know...one thing that always amazes me is the difference in perception between writing and reading. It takes days or weeks to write a detailed plot subsection, so you think it's boring and slow...but it only takes hours, maybe, to read it - so it moves along pretty quickly.
Okay, splain this to me. I haven't watched LOST yet, but my local radio station did "Lost in 90 seconds" this morning, so I basically know what's happening.
I saw y'all talking last night. What's this "end of season" dark magic of which you speak???
I got your point about Armistead. I was just bein'...well...Corin. You'll catch on. ;-)
We're not done here in Virginia by any means. We certainly did our part to keep Nancy out of the Speaker's chair (we lost no congresscritters).
We need some recovery time. But not for long.
All 140 seats in our General Assembly are up again in...363 days...
So if King Arthur turns up, we're in trouble. :)
Morning all!
Mornin' folkses...

WRT the 'lection, It would appear that I cruised through all the stages of grief in about an hour yesterday morning. I'm actually in a frighteningly good humor about things. Yes, I'll just say it: We'll survive.
There. I've done gone and said it.
:-)
Yep. We'll survive.
I'm just in regrouping mode. Then we'll charge ahead again.
Dare you to go post that one one of the more fractious threads...
Apparently this year they'e dividing the show into fall season and spring season, instead of repeating a show every three weeks or so like they did last year.
So the spring set of shows doesn't start until February.
And as usual, there's a cliffhanger. But it's a really teeny cliff this time. I'm not sure if I care if someone gets dropped.
It's a nuthouse out there. But even FR shall go on.
But not just yet. First we have the obligatory gnashing of teeth.
bastidges...
'I guess I'm getting used to the altitude. I'm not as out of breath as I was at the airport in Denver. I thought I was going to fall over and die just walking to the buses. The advisors knew what they were doing when they scheduled two days of day hikes and touring to help us get acclimated.'
Oh my goodness. I just re-wrote Ch 1 in four sentences.
Ack.
I can't gnash teeth until I've had a little coffee...
But I'm actually surprised that the state Initiatives all went down. I thought they'd be easy wins.
Yeah, but in the midst of that 11k, you're also showing us who the characters are before anything has really happened to them - giving us a good before shot.
But...probably stuff like decribing the two days of day hikes and touring isn't needed, I suppose. But the way I write, I'd have done that. *sigh* I have a really hard time with moving from one point in the story to another.
In other news, one composition notebook down...starting another.
And this one has much worse paper, even though it's the same brand. Go figure. It's gonna drive me nuts, though...can't really use fountain pen ink in it. Grrr...
I must be slow because I don't understsand what you mean. Sorry.
Isn't that the legend? That King Arthur is supposed to return from Avalon to aid Britain in it's direst need?
Maybe I need to brush up on my legends.
