The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Okay, I have a LOST question (or two)...

I think everyone's seen it, but spoiler font just in case...

1) Do we trust Juliet?

2) What the heck IS that black smoke thing? I thought that a bit far-fetched even for this show.

So, there's that.

Good for the unresolved ones. Cause you still need 39,000 words. :)

Just wish I at least had 'em resolved in my head.

1) I don't.

2) Perhaps it's a representation of the shark the show jumped a few episodes back?

I have found in all my writings that when things are not resolved or not worked out, it's because I don't have the catalyst, which usually comes during the writing process. A character says or does something and it sparks my imagination and the story, while on the same track, gets new scenery. I also like the new scenery better than what I planned. So, as you write, your characters will tell you how it should be resolved.

How? I don't know. As Phillip Henslow is fond of reminding us. "It's a mystery."

I was a huge Alias fan and sometimes watching that show was frustrating. But let me tell you, everything had a purpose and when the payoff came, it was worth waiting for. I think the same thing will be true with Lost.

If this rain keeps up the salmon may be at my doorstep :~)

This is seriesly heavy rain, we hardly ever get deluges like this, we've had over 6 inches in 48 hours, I think. They're talking floods like we haven't seen since 1990. They're saying the Nisqually's gonna flood today. Should be fun to go out with the camera...

So far, we haven't been hit by the wind that's with it elsewhere. I'm really glad about that.

Rosie - If you want to holler when you're ready to go, we'll keep Cisco over here for the day if you want.

So far Cisco refuses to go out. Hasn't been out since yesterday morning. Other than PUSHING him out, only to have him run back in as soon as I let go, I'm not sure what to do about that... But I imagine if I get the leash out, he'll be happy enough to walk next door. It's be great if you could take him - even the dog house is pretty wet today!

I reckon I should leave for work a bit early...guessing the interstate is interesting in traffic in all this rain. It was bad enough yesterday afternoon, and I think it's coming down harder now.

I bet the doghouse is technically keeping water out, but it'd be a pretty depressing place to be. We'd be happy to keep him here. Push him out the door though or the poor guy's gonna get all backed up :~)

Cartman took one look at it outside this morning and came back in. I pushed him into the kitty outhouse so he'd remember it, but he hissed at me and went back to bed.

We'll go up and take a look at the Nisqually probably, it doesn't flood every year. I've seen that whole valley flood where those gas stations are. The freeway berm creates a sortof a dam which doesn't help.

Always good to go photograph the falls at Tumwater too. They'll be roaring.

They'd cancel school here if this kind of wind was blowing.

Luckily we haven't seen wind yet... We may be in the lee of some of the local hills. I'm glad, I have enough to worry about with the water - I don't need to be worrying about my big trees fighting to stay upright in slippery footing!

View from my porch at first light...

Ponies in the barn...

It's so nasty Bay even pooped inside this morning, which he ~never~ does. :~)

There was *just* enough wind that a gust turned my umbrella inside out at an inopportune moment.

Roads are vey wet, but not much worse than that now. Right lane just before the Pacific Ave. exit was flooded and they had a truck out - working to improve drainage, I'd guess.

And the road to work was a river - couple inches of water, flowing down the hill.

Lovely.
