Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It's not like they're an endagered species or anything...

My boss' son dressed as a ninja for halloween. He came to the office for a bit. Very cute kid. ;-)

Apparently ninjas are now "in" again?

We've been over this before, OT. I like the squirrels. I attract them here with food, I think it's a little unfair to let the cats ambush them!

Yeah, the costume industry hasn't caught up the literary world where ninjas are passe.

It's the nature of cats to ambush squirrels. The predator/prey thing is just a part of nature.

Yeah...but allowing pets to ambush squirrels that you yourself are feeding just seems like...baiting.

Not very sportsmanlike. ;-)

I understand that. But putting a feeder out changes nature a bit, so I made it cat-proof is all. This squirrel wandered out of the sanctuary and for a moment, it was touch and go. All's well that ends well. :~)

'zackly what the Mrs. said.

Although she added "if they bother they naybers, let them get 'em up."

She's about as stressed as Corin. Earlier this week she referred to the Christmas show as her "Scottish Play." Last time we did this story line was when her Dad died. And now, things with her family are about to implode again, on several levels.

The bottom line is, leaves are the least of my worries.

You're not to blame if the squirrel wanders out of the safety zone.

Less than 600 to go. You'll have that done in an hour. :)

More like fifteen minutes.

She *is* a machine. ;-)

Has there been a year when you didn't finish about a week before the rest of us?
