Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Fie.

I recorded The Path to 9/11 to my HD for DVD purposes. I put a setting wrong and I've got the world's newest silent movie.

I say again, fie!

Did any of y'all tape it or something, oh please oh please?

Moving's a pain in the butt, though.

It sure is, even when you WANT to move!

I'm keeping you in my prayers regarding your situation with work. It really is awful on everyone at home when the job stinks!

Time to take up chicken farming.

Talk to 2J about that! She was pretty successful at it!

Well that stinks! Unfortunately we only have it on DVR, not a videotape. I think one of the ladies on the Dose taped it and was offering to make DVD's for some of the folks. IF you can't find it anywhere else, let me know and maybe snugs can make one for you.

I'd have to paint the bathroom again.

You know, what with replacing vanities, repainting perfectly good bathroom walls, and all the other stuff associated with moving, the thought of "At Auction--At Is, Where Is" sounds better and better. Though OB and I have put enough blood, sweat, tears and beers into this house we really just want to have it go as an estate sale house after we both die.

It may seem petty, but it can really wear on you. That's one of the reasons SirKit quit his job. It was just eating him up, and he didn't like the way it made him feel.

Heh, We're painting the front of the house. Forget the rest of it! Actually the rest of it isn't too bad, but the front faces due West and fades out quicker than the other sides. We just started painting on Sunday afternoon, and are halfway done with the siding. I painted the trim on one of the seven windows, and the trim around the front door today. Thankfully, we have two very nice days coming up, and we'll probably be able to finish all of that by Thursday, when it rains again.

I still have several rooms inside to paint, though, and we're just gonna move stuff to the center of the room so I can get around the walls.

Yeah, I've heard about the Auction thing. Sounds interesting, but we have the names of several families who are interested in moving on our street, so we're going to check with them first.

Is our cat hanging out over there? Hair checked earlier, but didn't see him.

I'm still awake. Paying bills...they were haunting me.

It's almost 2am.

I'm exhausted but can't get to sleep! I got the cookies done in enough time to take them to the firefighters down the street (a hugh tin of them...hugh!) and then Steve got home and we rushed to make it to the blood donor place. Steve decided he wouldn't donate...he had trouble the last three times. So they drew my blood to check the iron and it was too low, so I couldn't donate! :-(

So Steve gave it another try and they did a great stick on him...no trouble at all.

So at least one of us has kept up our tradition.

Others have the same idea, apparently...where you sign in it says "reason for donating" and one name after another had 9-11-01 in that column. That was kinda cool.
