Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Someone was asking how the Rove thing got started and I was recalling all the strange FR-isms. It was the "strange" part of all that that linked my train of thought to the envelope of mysterious goo.

Oh yeah and the disease! Aren't people supposed to be getting sick? And if not, what was the vaccine doing?

An envelope containing mysterious goo is nothing until photographed with a green bikini for authenticity :~)

I'd love to have that thread saved!

And there doesn't seem to be continuity between episodes.

...Sayid just shows up at the beach and we presume Sun and Jin are with him...what the heck happened to them? Weren't they still kinda in the middle of a gun fight?

LOST is beginning to remind me of a NaNo project gone horribly wrong, written by a whole group of people who aren't talking to one another.

Or there are manatees involved. I'm not sure which.

That may be the only explanation that makes any sense. ;~)

HA! By jove, I think you're on to something.

Manatees... with idea balls! Lets see - Sawyer; bunny; pacemaker. There's a scene.

I'm also wondering why they all wear white hippie shirts to funerals. That was...puzzling.

Got a call from the recruiter. He says it's looking very good... all four techie people loved me and they just have to meet with their manager person and get her ok. So yay! I think this place will be a much better fit for me. They asked questions about my software engineering design philosophies :-) and I told them horror stories about my present job and they felt my pain.

That all sounds good!

Sneaking on for a few minutes. Why are Friday afternoons so long?

In other news, though I'm ahead of schedule, my story has just come to a crashing halt and I'm not sure how to jump to the next section.

I need a montage.

I'm excited! I had fun at the interview. It's nice when the interview is laid back... I didn't feel under a lot of pressure to land the job so of course I did great.

It's firmly Friday night here. I have to go cook dinner soon.

My story is bogged down in the middle of an air car chase with magical explosions. For some reason I find that boring to write and would rather have people talk interminably to each other.

I just spent the last 20 mintues contemplating the relationship a backpacker has with his backpack.

Yeah, explosions. That's where I'm stuck, too. Just made something go boom and now I don't know what to do next.

I can't do action. I now have five main characters who can talk interminably *about* action, but the actual *doing* of action makes everything fall apart. Especially when they really need to go from action to action without a lot of talking in between.
