Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Ah - a mixed review - interesting!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear; HairOfTheDog
Well, would WHOA be more appropriate?
To: JenB
Heh...Robert Jordan's got nuthin' on me!
To: osagebowman; HairOfTheDog
Well, I don't want to give anything away, even in spoiler font, so all I'll say is: I didn't like the ending.

OK - we'll talk in a few hours :~)

I should be able to get more in tomorrow...tonight just wasn't conducive to getting much done.
At least I got a bit of plot untangling done in the car. Seriesly needed that.

Word count update. Only now I've finished that bit and I'm not sure how to get to the next one.

It was a load of crap all right. Not as many words as I would have liked, but the way I'm going I'll hit 50,000 before the main character reaches the end of the hall.
Well....maybe it isn't that bad. :)
To: Overtaxed
*snork*
My trouble is that my characters usually spend about the first 20,000 works figure out what they should do, and the next 30,000 discussing it, pro and con, ad nauseum - without actually *doing* it.

Heh....so they should just call it a day, go out for pizza, and leave the action to the sequel.
To: Overtaxed
Ya know...I think I actually wrote that scene in my first NaNo... ;-)

You could do what the writers did in MASH the movie. They had all these individual plot points and no way to connect it together...so, they came up with the loudspeaker to tie everything together. Kinda like the mice in BABE. And if you don't know how to make the segue into the next one, you could do a "Meanwhile, back at the ranch..." thing. You keep moving forward and the word total (nice total BTW) keeps adding up.

And if you don't know how to make the segue into the next one, you could do a "Meanwhile, back at the ranch..." thing... He said "meanwhile"...heh heh heh...
(To be fair James: that's a throwback reference to our first days of discussing the disjointedness of "The Two Towers" film)
