Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I saw it in the left turn lane getting run over by an SUV.
I love it!!! Wonder if it was a soccer mom driving? LSA

Not legalize it-- just build 24 soccer fields for the children of Johnson County at a cost of $75 million because the children of Johnson County "deserve it" (proponents own words). I'm still trying to figure out what they've done to "deserve" such an expenditure.

OT gets to vote on it 'cause she lives there; OB and I live on the other side of the state line so we can't :-(

Yeah really. What kind of parent would let their kid play a wuss game like soccer?

Can't the little buggers just run around the block a few times?

I think so. She had a phone stuck in her ear.

Well...the wind did get that big soccer sign. I saw it in the left turn lane getting run over by an SUV.

AKA a soccer-mom-mobile. Oh, the irony!

Dang --it gets worse!!!! The proponents just said that the fields could be used for the emerging sports of "lacrosse" and, OMG, "rugby." LSA

What I can't figure is why when a movie star makes drunken anti-ssemitic slurs while being arrested, that is a view into his vicious soul, while when a supposedly articulate political figure, nearly elected President, attacks the military, we aren't supposed to think this is how he really feels, even though he has frequently made similar attacks on them.

Has anyone else heard the expression 'a Freudian slip'.

I always thought that lacrosse involved whacking your opponent on the head with a club, and that rugby, since it is similar to football without the protective equipment, is not precisely like croquet either.

Looking for an excuse to post your updated word count? ;-)

I may not get more in today, but it's pretty close to what I needed anyhow. Finished a chapter.
