Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I posted my excerpt before work. Something is goofy with their flash setup because it chops the text off the bottom of each page. Hrm... 766 words before work. :)

I'm a dashaholic.
Or a hyphenaholic.
Whichever.
Ungh...I did *not* sleep well. But at least I'm up early enough to write before work.
To: James Ewell Brown Stuart
Thanks for the good wishes! And...good afternoon to you! Or is it evening now?
Time zones get so confusing!
To: 300winmag
You got the name right. ;-)
Thanks, for the, tip!
To: JenB
Semicolon-aholic here, and, worse, a dash-aholic as well.
I was not really ready to start. Had to move the laptop, clean puppy pee off the power supply, and get a mouse and keyboard out and working. I did get started and set up one of the biggest disasters of the main characters life. A cool new twist that I thought of in the shower. Now I have until lunch to come up with another scene to write.
Mental note: Stop mentioning word count around Jen...
I think she was up to her day's total before work.
To: RosieCotton
Right now it is 4:20 in the afternoon. The sun is setting and it wil be dark in about 1/2 hour. Israel is on daylight saving time, but it still gets dark early. (It is 9:20 EST as I write...

To: James Ewell Brown Stuart
I thought yall were close enough to the equator to get more daylight than we do. Here in Iowa it gets dark about the same time this time of year.
To: Rose in RoseBear
At least I'm in good company!
To: James Ewell Brown Stuart
Six-thirty over here on the west coast. Sun is just coming up!
I'm making coffee, trying to find something to take for lunch, and then hopefully I can sit down and write a thousand words or so at a sitting. I have action to write, though, so I don't know. Dialog is soooooo much easier.
To: RosieCotton
I agree, dialog is so much easier. I've just gone over some rough spots in the novel today. Had to make sure all the dates worked out and find a place for the next major battle. Found that...now I have to determine how long it will get the warring parties to the new battlefield.

I would write more today, but I have reports to finish this morning, a major briefing to do this afternoon, and a (worthless) homework assignment to do tonight. :(

Yah...I'm not sure I'll have any time tonight. Got a sort of wedding shower to go to, a church deal, and then LOST.
I could ditch all but the church deal, but...
And now I'm finishing breakfast and stalling.
To: RosieCotton; Lil'freeper
If I cheat with the intro to the story I've already written...I've got 291 words...
To: Corin Stormhands
Woo-hoo!
OK, I'm off to the couch with my notebook...got about fifty minutes to work with.
To: Corin Stormhands
Is it against the rules to put something already written in the space? If not then you're golden!

No, Israel is actually not near the equator, but we are in desert area and does it get hot! We get an equal amount of daylight and night. About 12 hours of sunlight and the same for night. It stays the same all year! It's 5:07 here, and there is very little light left. It will be pitch black in about 10 minutes and stay that way until a little before 6:00 tomorrow morning.

Technically, it's all supposed to be written in the month of November.
BTW, welcome to The Hobbit Hole.
I'm not currently here as often as usual. I'm off campaigning and such.
To: no one in particular
In other news...today would have been my parent's 54th wedding anniversary.
~sigh~
