Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

What's the exchange rate for other dares versus anamatronic strippers?

***ponders writing about an animatronic stripper who does this thing with a banana...***

I'm going to take the leftovers tomorrow for the coworkers to eat. I'll put it in a shabby box with a note reminding takers that someone walked off with my favorite bowl last year and hasn't returned it. It was our favorite popcorn bowl.

Just don't plan on running for office if you write that.

~If~ I go back up and read the last several hours worth of posts, will this response make a lick of sense? ;~)

about an animatronic stripper who does this thing...

Hey! that reminds me of this one time down in... uh... uh...

So... there I was at thirty thousand feet when suddenly

Then animatronic strippers ought to be easy too. They don't have to be physically in the story... just having someone talk about them to someone else would count.

Here's a good one I just pulled from the dare thread:

Have a character who always says "...OF DEATH" after describing things. Example: "The silver and black cerial spoon... OF DEATH." Or "Hand me the yellow pencil... OF DEATH."
Bonus points if it's your MC.
Double bonus points if they always say this after describing an extremely trivial thing. It can never be "the giant sword... OF DEATH".

*Looks confused* what's so weird about that? My sibs and I used to do that regularly.

Actually I think we did "Of Doom" mostly. Like "The Frying Pan of Doom".

Which cooked me an omelet this morning...

Kitchen implements that double as weapons are always good to have around.

It was just on the dare thread. It made my smile because it's something kids do.

Here's another:

Have a character consistently yell "Ah! Me eye!" whenever they are hit.
Bonus If they are never actually hit in the eye.

All my kitchen implements can double as weapons. It's all a matter of how you use them.
