Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I pulled up all the plants and dug out theraised bed. I'm pooped! Think I'll just skip over to the door project and let the chipmunk keep his digs for a little bit longer.

Heh...sounds good to me!

I've had too many of those coffee beans this morning. I think I'm vibrating between dimensions or something. Wheee!

Working title is "A Prophecy Misheard."

The prophecy has been mistranslated over the years into a children's rhyme that is slightly (but not too) off color.

When the prophecy is tranlated correctly, then all is revealed.

Well...if it makes you feel better, the story that I'm now working on, I've been calling "Dangerous Memories". Main gal has forgotten something vey important - has amnesia.

And 75k words into it, I still haven't *totally* made up my mind what exactly the important bit is. It's changed somewhat since my original plan.

Okay....glue and toothpicks are in.

The screw is only 1" long. Should I go shopping for longer screws?

I'm starting to like Talon's story better than mine. Although I love mine. It's just his is getting sillier by the minute. We found a place for the animatronic strippers and the NaNo party people suggested a business outsourcing home repossessions to Kashmir.

Hi OT; Taking a break from de-gardening, LSA is still bleeding the radiators. RE: the screws - LSA doesn't have an opinion; If the screws are in good shape, they should be fine, but if the screw slot is getting rounded or the threads aren't clean and sharp, it would be a good idea to replace them. I'd go inch and quarter if you get new ones. OB

The directions to the place downtown sound awfully convoluted. And from what little was posted in the forums, it sounds like all of about two people are showing up this afternoon. I think I'm going to just skip out this year.

*sigh*

Have I mentioned I miss the Fort Collins gang? And there's also something to be said for a town where everything is built on a grid. May not be pretty, but it does simplify directions.

My sister's baby had that when she was only days old.

Let us know how he does.

What is your story this year? I forget.

I'm thinking maybe I'll go buy a CD instead of hitting the NaNo meeting. I make a lousy social butterfly. But I'm not sure that's my kind of society anyhow.

Maybe I've been writing my current character too long. I'm becoming even more of a cynic than usual...

But at least I'm not writing murderess chick for a while.

Miss Annie is a happy cat. It took a couple of hours and OB physically placing her on the radiator cover, but she is quietly dozing in place :-)

I'm rewriting my science fantasy. Magical spacecrafts, curses, that sort of thing. And lots of personal politics and interpersonal dramas.

So...since you're at least using a previous *idea* if not a previous story, can I feel less guilty if I just keep working on my current one?

Seriously, though, I'd love to read it at the end. This is kind of from the same world at that one from two years ago?
