Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Ohfercryinoutloud.

But I won't kill you. We got a lecture yesterday about workplace violence. It was comic. Push a bunch of nerds and geeks past their breaking point and then tell them not to kill anyone. *sigh*

Publick skools were out today, so the stores were filled with screaming tots, whiny tweeners, and oh-so-cool teens (sigh). I got what I needed to get and came home. Fixing myself a couple of chai, then I'll take my poor neglected puppy for a walk.

Poor puppy, my a**!! She has gone for a walk twice a day every day; twice this week we've been rained on, but, hey, she's at the end of a leash so it's all good!! But this morning, it was rainy, it was cold, it was windy, I told her she could just wait, so she is laying on her bed ~ sulking~.

You told the puppy to wait?! My kitty starts clawing me when she hears "wait".

I've been feeling kinda bleah today too. Spongy-like. But I've been quaffing down the soda water here at the airport, and I feel a little better. I think I'm just dehydrated.

Well, and the bourbon helps the mood a little too.

:-)

We're just struggling with a very minor cold. Not enough to spend a whole day in bed. Just takes the top level of energy off.

Oh well. We have hard lemonade and burritos.

Are you still using Trend for AV? Any conflicts you've found between PC-Cillin Internet Security 2007 and Outlook?

yes, we're still using it. Haven't seen anything regarding outlook. But the home product is different from the business suite we use. It could be lots of things, but there is a realtime listener that runs in the back ground.

I too would recommend upgrading at least to Outlook 2003 even if you don't want the whole office suite.

Well, The issue is with the PC Cillin though, it's not Outlook's problem.

It's pegging my CPU usage and locking up whatever I'm trying to do.

We've been searching around and lots of people are complaining about this issue. It's not just me.

Ah, OK.

The version we run here is a pretty light client just for av on the pc. It doesn't have all the other firewall stuff that the home client does. That's done elsewhere on the network, and we have a separate firewall, the cisco one, for people when they're off the network.

We got's an issue with PcScnSrv.exe, evidently the PC-Cillin spyware service, periodically locking up the CPU at 100%.

Those services can max out the cpu briefly while a scan is running. Has a full scan been run already?

I looked around the trend support site, but no joy yet.
