The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The geek factor of having clothing with wire management built in is not to be underestimated. You always win the "who's the bigger geek" contest. :-)

...if you're into that sort of thing.

I imagine it might be a good thing to look like maybe you're part of the security detail :)

Wheee home. Errands only took forty minutes so the dogs get a few minutes of playtime before I go run. Dinner is started and will be ready when you're done with karate.

That was a really good day. And it was Monday, no less.

I will tell you what. I *love* getting on a plane full of soldiers or marines. Even when they're in civies you can always tell. They make me feel very safe.

Talon pretty much wins the "who's the bigger geek" contest by default. Even at anime conventions.

The new vests and jackets there have an interesting new addition: Big velcro patches mounted inside the pockets, suitable for accepting some of the velcro-backed holsters. Which, I happen to have.

It is amazing, how you can have even a fairly large frame auto or revolver in one of the big oversize pockets and it simply doesn't show at all on the outside. I've tried it with my Kimber .45 and it doesn't show at all. It doesn't even hang all wrong with the weight in it.

I don't carry very often. But it is nice to be able to.

I spent a small part of the day drooling over a Ram Line fiberglass (?) folding stock for an SKS.

Oh, please, may I have one, and a bipod that bolts onto the bayonet mount, and a receiver cover with scope rails and a scope and maybe even a (legally ambiguous) 30-rd detachable mag?

Pimp my SKS...

ooo I want a bipod for my AK. Or maybe just a foregrip that has a rail where I can mount one. Hmmm fun toys.

I'm *this close* to starting a blog on the sights and sounds of American Airports.

I'm not the fattest hog on the cart. I don't have the ugliest shoes either.

Corin, who knows what's in those woods, there could even be racoon poop. Does he know about ~ that ~ possibility? OB

That makes sense, Miss Kitty sleeps in the 'puter case, pen drives in the 'puter case.

In other news, chimney liner arrived at installers place, possible installation Wed or Fri or Sat. Well, some progress is being made.
