From what little I have seen of 'Silverado', it is no 'The Searchers'.

Well, of course not. Fifty years later, and without John Ford or John Wayne... it's not a John Ford Western. But I think it does pay appropriate homage to the Ford style, and the Wayne manner. If somebody was gonna make a western movie today, they'd better do it like that, and I think this one succeeds at that. IMHO.
