As usual...
We replaced the HH logo at the top of the thread with a picture of our happy couple... I'm sure more will be posted tomorrow. :~)
Oh, nice picture in the HH door!!
Congrats you two!! Wishes and prayers for many years of wedded bliss!
Anyone wonder if they'll log in from the hotel tonight? :~)
*snort* Yeah, that's gonna happen! Do you know where they were going on their honeymoon?
Heh heh!!
They had their wedding on the beach in Puget Sound...I actually attended that wedding!! It was very quick, but beautifully done and we all stood around watching on the sand. The entire wedding was done on webcam!
The flew off in a plane that landed on the water when they left the reception! It was GREAT!
Corin, you look great!! Those sessions with the trainer are really paying off! Very dapper!
Jen, your dress is truly beautiful! Love your nails!
You look great! I love that blouse!
I'm so glad the hitchin' went off without a hitch! Heh heh!!!
Gotta do some packing tomorrow. Have been buying new cabinets for the two bathrooms the last few days. Folks say that kitchens and bathrooms are the things that really sell houses, so we're fixing ours up before we put it on the market. Got in stock ones from Home Depot for the kids' bath; SirKit is re-routing the plumbing to accomodate the center sink vanity top, then he and Joseph will install the new pieces tomorrow or the next day. I still need to paint places on the wall that had been covered by the old vanity, since this one is shorter than the other one.
Ordered new cabinets for our bathroom that are really nice. Also got them from HD, and they're a dark color, Java, in a Shaker style door design. It's gonna be sorta Asian inspired. It's a small room, so I'm trying to keep the lines clean and non-fussy. They won't arrive for couple of weeks, though, so we're gonna get the kids' bathroom back together, and we'll all use that one while we tear out the vanity from our bathroom, and get the walls and trim painted so that when the new cabinets arrive, we can put them right in!
Didja get home safe? I'm heading out of here in about an hour.
Oh it was perfect!! It was everything a wedding should be: a complete family affair. No hyperactive wedding planners with headsets, no bridezillas. Jen's family did it all - the dress, the cakes, the decorations. Her brothers grew all those sunflowers ( they were *beautiful* ) and were excellent ushers. They worked the reception like pros. I tell you, that's one impressive family. So is Talon's! Absolutely delightful folks!
And anyone who pooh-pooh's homeschoolers for their supposed lack of social skills are utter fools. I just met two amazing families who represent everything a family should be. Just amazing.
And yes, the shoooooooes raised a couple eyebrows. We took those pics vey early before most of the revelers arrived to avoid any scandal. Once we explained a little bit, the interested individuals said, "Oh, that makes sense!" Meaning they're well-acquainted with our collective sense of quirky. Heh.
Yep, but it was late so I didn't log on last night.
Enjoyed meeting you and sharing in the festivities.
Mornin' folks.
Lil's already given you some reporting. It was indeed a lovely day. I was going to (with the bride's permission) post a picture of the happy couple here, but I see they're already gracing our doorway.
I've added a few pictures to the Yahoo site.
I got there okay with the help of a friend's GPS. However, finding the actual chapel once on campus was tricksey. I finally asked someone and he took me through the kitchen and showed me how to get there.
The weather was perfect all day long. Sunny and beautiful. It started raining a bit when I was leaving the reception. But I don't think even that lasted long.
I met Lil' and, in spite of some of the things y'all have said about here, she's really nice. Also met Empress. She promises to post more.
Corin has to admit he was a little depressed when he saw how young Jen's parents are. Seriously, they look like they could be siblings.
And, no matter what Jen has told us, the sisters and bothers make a wonderful family.
I mentioned this to Hair. The priest began the homily saying "Marriage is what brings us together today..."
I think Lil' and I were the only ones laughing.
More details to come as I think of them. It was a pleasure and an honor to be there on behalf of the Hobbit Hole.
Good morning and thank you both for your excellent reports and pictures!
Morning Corin, many thanks for the fine pictures and wedding moot report. We enjoyed them. OB & LSA
Morning, looks like rain is on the way, we'll see.
I acted as 'Wedding Planner' for my cousin's wedding. It consisted of her asking me to make sure folks were in place, and she did that 20 minutes before the ceremony began. Real formal gig, I can tell you!
I'm so glad that you and Corin were there to respresent the HH; terrific ambassadors, I must say!
